Frequently asked questions
These answers describe the general Live partnership model. The applicable agreement and program rules govern each approved relationship.
Does Live Customs issue charitable donation receipts?
No. Live Customs does not issue official charitable donation receipts.
Can a registered charity participate?
Yes. Canadian registered charities may apply for appropriate Live programs and are subject to the applicable partnership terms.
Can a nonprofit participate?
Eligible nonprofits and community organizations may apply for appropriate programs. Participation does not create charitable status.
Does buying a Live product automatically create a tax receipt?
No. A product purchase is not automatically a charitable donation. The applicable campaign terms and CRA requirements determine the treatment of a contribution.
Does applying guarantee acceptance?
No. Applications are subject to review and approval.
Can Live operate with partners outside Ontario?
Yes, the program can be designed for organizations across Canada, subject to applicable provincial and territorial requirements.
What information is needed to apply?
Applicants should be prepared to provide organizational information, contact details, program goals and any supporting information requested during review.
Will there be a written agreement?
Approved partnerships may require a written agreement that sets out the program, responsibilities, financial arrangements, communications, reporting and other applicable terms.
Can sponsors participate without being a charity?
Yes. Businesses and organizations may participate through sponsorship and other approved community partnership arrangements that do not represent them as charities.
